StarBoy's Walkthrough: The Lost Vikings Stage 15S/16G

StarBoy's Walkthrough:
(SNES edition)
October 22nd, 2018
Stage 15S/16G - SPKS
Item(s) - 2 healthy fruit, 1 flaming set of arrows, 1 extra health shield
You begin on the left where ahead of you is a large set of spikes (with a healthy fruit positioned in midair).
After dropping down to the spot below it, take a long leap as Erik until you land on the right side of the spiky gap (get the healthy fruit if you want it).  Press the button to fill the gap so that the other two Vikings can cross without worrying about getting impaled.  As Olaf drop off the edge and walk to the right until you stop by the edge with the shield down.
Now do the same as Baleog until you stand behind Olaf's shield.  Switch back as Erik and jump on the chained block to lower it down a little, but the moment you land on it immediately jump back to the upper platform for there is a stationary fireball-spewing cannon at the end on the right (hence Olaf's position, so he and Baleog won't get penetrated by the flames).  With the block lower than it was before, have Baleog shoot an arrow at the chain to enable the block to fall straight down onto a floor switch below it (filling the equally sized gap in the process) which will cause not just the spikes to recede to the ground but the cannon to be deactivated.  Drop down to the now spike-free ground.
At the end on the right there is a ladder below you.  Climb it down.
About halfway down feel through to the left to walk through a hidden path (where Erik is slightly obscured in the screenshot).
Preferably as Erik run to the left, then jump up to get above, and keep going until you see a flaming set of arrows for Baleog placed above an extra health shield, but also slowly moving about is a mummy.  This stage is manageable without either item, but if you are going to get them then be sure not to let the mummy touch you otherwise you yourself will become one and will be forced to start over.  Once that's done head back to the ladder on the right.
Climb all the way down the ladder as Baleog and dispose of the leaping spearman (if you gave him the flaming set of arrows then it will only require one flaming arrow to eliminate enemies as opposed to three normal ones, still requiring three sword strikes regardless).  Once the spearman is dead, have Erik finish his climb down and with enough traction ram down the gray wall to demolish it.  A path will open up.
Climb down the ladder at the end on the left, and have Olaf stand in front of the right wall with his shield down.  Ready your position as Baleog in the event of the imminent attack.  Finally have Erik ram down the right wall, then immediately after it's finished collapsing get rid of the leaping spearman inside as Baleog.
Inside is a healthy fruit for the taking if you desire it, but below it is a big inscription with four symbols, two in each row.  This is crucially important.
For a brief moment, let's compare it to the MegaDrive/Genesis version on a screen resolution level.  In the SNES original you had to scroll towards the right to see the entire inscription due to the relatively square ratio, but in the Sega conversion you can see it before even having to destroy the wall because of its slightly augmented breathing room in terms of screen resolution (so much so that you don't even have to ram it down).  But just because that version might alleviate difficulty on a breathing room level, it doesn't mean it'll alleviate all of the difficulty in the long run as the difficulty is consistent with both versions despite the size differences.
Now, while switching controls as Erik, ram down the gray wall on the left to open a path.
Walk a little to the left as Baleog and finish off the leaping spearman, then climb up the ladder and do the same to the one on that level.
Now take control as Olaf.  On two segments above the first ladder are a button on each side right next to a symbol which you can change at the press of a button in the same loop; in the uppermost section are blocks falling from the gray segments of the ceiling, so have Olaf's shield above his head to protect him.  If you can't remember the correct sequence, switch back to Erik and/or Baleog standing next to the inscription to get a refresher, then go back to Olaf to press the button until you've landed on the right symbol for all four sides, then once you're done climb down to the bottom.
Walk to the end as Olaf and stand in front of the button next to the blocked exit.  If you initiated the correct sequence then the blocks will collapse thereby giving access to the exit; if you did it wrong, then a block will fall down on you (if that winds up being the case, have his shield placed above his head).  Once you've succeeded, walk all three Vikings to the exit on the left, and you're done!  =)
Congratulations, you survived Stage 15S/16G!!!
